The Hunger Safety Net Programme (HSNP), managed by the National Drought Management Authority (NDMA), has allocated household support across eight arid and semi-arid counties.

Turkana leads with 39,917 beneficiary households, followed by Mandera with 22,229, Marsabit with 20,453, and Wajir with 19,201.

Other allocations include Garissa with 9,252 households, Samburu with 8,344, Tana River with 7,377, and Isiolo with 7,027.

However, the Sh3.9 billion HSNP disbursement has faced delays due to NDMA funding shortfalls, leaving 133,800 households awaiting payment despite the allocations already being determined.
